AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB,
TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 8 OF ORDINANCE NO. 2001-01, AN ORDINANCE
ORDERING AND CALLING A GENERAL ELECTION OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB, TO BE HELD ON MAY 5, 2001 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR
AND TWO (2) COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR TWO (2) YEAR TERMS EACH TO THE
TOWN COUNCIL AS IT RELATES TO THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ALTERNATE
PRESIDING ELECTION JUDGE; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A NEW
ALTERNATE PRESIDING ELECTION JUDGE; PROVIDING THAT THE
REMAINDER OF ORDINANCE NO. 2000-01 SHALL NOT BE AFFECTED;
PROVIDING A CUMULATIVE CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; PROVIDING
FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, At the February 5, 2001 Town Council meeting of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas, the Town Council adopted Ordinance No. 2001-01 ordering and calling an election to be
held on May 5, 2001 pursuant to the Town's authority under Section 3.004 of the Texas Election
Code;
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2001-01 named an individual who was to perforin the duties of
alternate presiding election judge;
WHEREAS, the individual named in Ordinance No. 2001-01 is no longer eligible to act as
the alternate presiding election judge for the May 5, 2001 election; therefore, the Town must
name a new alternate presiding election judge;
WHEREAS, Section 32.001 of the Texas Election Code provides for the appointment of an
Alternate Presiding Election Judge to conduct voting in each precinct where an election is held;
and
WHEREAS, all other portions of Ordinance No. 2001-01 shall remain in full force and
affect and shall not be affected by the passage of this amending ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
APPOINTMENT OF NEW ALTERNATE PRESIDING ELECTION JUDGE
That Section S of Ordinance No. 2001-01, an Ordinance ordering and calling a general
election of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, shall be amended only as it pertains to the
appointment of a new Alternate Presiding Election Judge, and the applicable portion of such
section shall read as follows:

SECTION 2.
REMAINDER OF ORDINANCE NO. 2001-01 NOT AFFECTED
The remainder of Ordinance No. 2001-01 shall not be affected by this amendment to
Section 8 thereof and shall remain in full force and effect as specifically amended hereby.
SECTION 3.
CUMULATIVE CLAUSE
This Ordinaucc shall be cumulative of all provisions of Ordinances of the Town of
Trophy Club, Texas, except where the provisions of this Ordinance are in direct conflict with the
provisions of such ordinances, in which event the conflicting provisions of such ordinances are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
It is hereby declared to be the intent of the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club
that the phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and sections of this Ordinance are severable, and
if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, or section of this Ordinance shall be declared
unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such
unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs,
or sections of this Ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the Town Council
without incorporation of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, or
section.
SECTION 5.
SAVINGS CLAUSE
Ordinance No. 2001-01, except for amendn-rent by this Ordinance, is still in full force and
effect, and all other provisions thereof are expressly saved.
SECTION 6.
PUBLICATION
The Town Secretary of the Town of Trophy Club is hereby directed to publish the
Caption and Effective Date clause of this Ordinance as required by Section 52.011 of the Texas
Local Government Code.

SECTION 7.
ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT
The Town Secretary of the Town of Trophy Club is hereby directed to engross and enroll
this Ordinance by copying the exact Caption and Effective date clause in the minutes of the
Town Council and by filing this Ordinance in the Ordinance records of the Town.
SECTION S.
EFFECTIVE DATE
This Ordinance shall become effective from and after its date of passage and publication
in accordance with law, and it is so ordained.
