AN
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB,
TEXAS CREATING THE OFFICE OF TOWN
ADMINISTRATOR; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT
OF THE TOWN ADMINISTRATOR AND SETTING FORTH
THE ADMINISTRATOR'S POWERS AND DUTIES;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 22.071, Tex. Loc. Gov. Code Ann.
(Vernon) authorizes the Town Council to appoint such officers
of the Town as the Town Council may direct; and
WHEREAS, said Section 22.071 and Section 22.072 of the
said Code authorize the Town Council to confer powers and
duties on the Town officers as it may direct; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council deems it in the best interest
of the citizens of the Town to establish the office of Town
Administrator.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to
be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this
ordinance as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That there is hereby created the office of
Town Administrator of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, the
appointment of whom and whose powers and duties shall be in
accordance with the following:
A. The Town Administrator shall be appointed, and may
be suspended or removed by the Mayor of the Town
with the consent of a majority of the members of the
Town Council.
B. The Town Administrator may be authorized, upon the
passage of a proper resolution or other necessary
legal document by the Town Council and in the
absence or unavailability of the Mayor, to execute a
contract or other legal document on behalf of the
Town.
C. The Town Administrator shall be responsible to the
Town Council for the proper administration of the
affairs of the Town.

D. The Town Administrator shall be and hereby is vested
with the authority to appoint and, when necessary
for the welfare of the Town, suspend or remove any
department head, officer or employee of the Town
except as otherwise provided by the ordinances and
laws of the Town, or the State of Texas.
E. The Town Administrator shall be and hereby is vested
with the authority to authorize the department heads
of the various departments of the Town to appoint,
suspend or remove any employees or subordinates
within such department.
F. That the Town Administrator may consolidate or
combine offices, positions, departments, or units
under his jurisdiction, subject to the approval of
the Town Council.
Section 3. That the provisions of this ordinance do
not limit or restrict the duties and responsibilities of the
Town Administrator except to the extent that such duties and
responsibilities are in conflict with the provisions of the
ordinances and laws of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas or of the
State of Texas.
Section 4. if any section, article, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or
application thereto any person or circumstances is held invalid
or unconstitutional by.a Court of competent jurisdiction, such
holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
of this ordinance; and the Town Council hereby declares it
would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance
despite such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain
in full force and effect.
Section 5. That this Ordinance shall take effect from
and after its date of passage as provided by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the ,Town Council of the Town of
