The Planning and Zoning Commission for the Town of Trophy Club met in Regular Session on
Thursday, February 20, 1997 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was held at the Municipal Utility District
Building, 100 Municipal Drive, Trophy Club, Texas. The meeting was held within the Town
boundaries and was open to the Public.

Chairman Hamper called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. noting a quorum was present. He then
welcomed Staff and Guests.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO CONSIDER ENTRY SIGNAGE FOR
"LAKESIDE" ADDITION OF TROPHY CLUB AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION.
Chairman Hamper called upon Mac McLeod with Lakeside to present his plan for entry signage
on Village Trail. Mr. McLeod stated the signage would be located on Lot 6 which is
approximately 400 feet from the elementary school. A portion of Lot 6 was undevelopable due to
a drainage ditch. He referred to a drawing of the sign which show it to be twenty one feet long
and five feet high with a landscape planter in the front.
Chairman Hamper asked if this is common area in the covenants. Mr. McLeod stated it was not
presently but will be added. He will bring the amended covenants to Ms. Shaw.

The Commissioners asked if the sign would be lighted? Mr. McLeod stated there would possibly
be low voltage lighting and a sprinkler system to maintain proper growth of the plants.
After the presentation and discussion, the Commissioners agreed upon the concept but; would like
more information.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO CONSIDER ALTERNATIVE MASONRY
MATERIALS FOR CHIMNEYS IN LAKESIDE AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION.
Mr. Troy Grant requested the Commissioners approve "Nardi -board" product in place of brick for
the chimney's in Lakeside.
The Commissioners discussed the product and had several concerns such as: weather barrier, how
will corners close, etc.
Commissioner Gilliland made a motion to approve the "Nardi Board" for use in place of brick on
chimneys in Lakeside. Commissioner Schaaf seconded; motion failed four to two. Commissioners
voting against: Cotton; Reed, Hill; and Williams.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO CONSIDER RECOMMENDING THE
ADOPTION OF THE 1996 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF
NOT ALLOWING ALUMINUM WIRING OF ANY KIND.
The Commissioners were familiar with aluminum wiring, therefore the discussion was short.
Commissioner Gilliland made a motion to adopt the 1996 National Electrical Code with the
exception of aluminum wiring, no aluminum wiring allowed. Commissioner Hill seconded; motion
passed unanimously.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Next meeting will be March 20.
There being no further business to discuss, Commissioner Hill made a motion to close the P&Z
meeting at 8:30 p.m. Commissioner Reed seconded; motion passed unanimously.
