1. CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM.
Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm, and announced a
quorum was present.
2. PRESENTATION, DISCUSSION AND APPROPRIATE ACTION RELATIVE TO AN
APPLICATION FOR A MERITORIOUS EXCEPTION FOR A COMMERCIAL
ADVERTISMENT SIGN LOCATED ON A TRACT OF LAND ZONED CG- COMMERCIAL

EAST OF THE PLANTATION APARTMENTS. (APPLICANT: FOUR PEAKS DEVELOPMENT)
Chairman Hill read a letter from the applicant (attached to these minutes)
requesting the meritorious exception. The applicant was unable to attend the
meeting, but requested favorable consideration in this matter.
Ms. Adams stated that the sign ordinance prohibits pole signs and if it's
prohibited in the ordinance, a meritorious exception is not an option for the
applicant.
A motion was made to deny the request as it is prohibited under the ordinance
and does not qualify for a meritorious exception.

RE: Application for meritorious exception
Dear Sir or Madam:
We are seeking a meritorious exception for a commercial advertisement sign, to
be located on a tract of land Zoned CG, north of State Hwy. 114 and south of
Indian Creek Townhomes and east of the Plantation Apartments.
Due to the construction on Hwy. 114, we have found that prospective customers
have been unable to locate our site. Therefore, we feel the larger sign is
necessary at this time.
We regret that we could not send a representative to attend the meeting this
evening. One of the partners is out of state, and the other cannot attend due to
health problems. However, we would very much appreciate your favorable
consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
Sue Bell
