found it hard to believe the applicant has lived in Trophy Club for 20 years and was
unaware of the Town's fence ordinance. The fence that was built is taller than is
allowed by the ordinance and is also constructed from unapproved materials.
Commissioner Reed stated that people must be aware of the requirements of their City.
They have to know something about rules and regulations and therefore he is unable to
recommend approval. If it were to be approved, then it would just send a message to
residents that they can build something, apply for a waiver and then state they were
unaware of the requirements.
Commissioner Moss inquired about the applicant's proposal for a parallel fence.
Commissioner Reed informed the applicant he would not be able to construct a fence
close than twenty feet (20') to the existing fence.
A motion was made to recommend denial of the waiver request.
