RESOLUTION NO. 85-3
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS,
ESTABLISHING A PARKS AND RECREATION STUDY
COMMITTEE; PROVIDING TERMS OF OFFICE; PRESCRIBING
QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES AND POWERS OF MEMBERS;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club, Texas (the "Town"), being a newly
incorporated municipality, is in need of a study for purposes of submitting requests
for Federal and State matching funds for parks and other forms of recreation for the
citizens of the community; and
WHEREAS, in the interest of general health, welfare and safety of the
citizens, the Town Council desires to establish a Parks and Recreation Study
Committee for the purposes of studying the feasibility of obtaining Federal and
State matching funds for parks and recreation in the Town and making a report and
recommendation to the Town Council and the Planning and Zoning Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters in the preamble are found to he true and correct
and are hereby incorporated into the body of this Resolution as if copied in their
entirety.
Section 2. That the purpose of the Parks and Recreation Study Committee is
to study the feasibility of obtaining Federal and State matching funds for the
development of parks and recreation in the community, and to report to the
Planning and Zoning Committee and the Town Council for review and approval.
Section 3. The Parks and Recreation Study Committee shall consist of five
(5) regular members, two (2) advisory members and one alternate member.
Section 4. The term of appointment of each member shall commence upon
the approval of the appointment and continue until December 31, 1985, provided,
however, that each member shall serve at the pleasure and will of the Town Council.
Section 5. The initial term of the Parks and Recreation Study Committee
may be extended by ordinance of the Town Council.
Section 6. The Town Council hereby appoints Vance Booker, John Sheller,
John Mayall and Larry Schwab, as regular committee members and Roger Brown and
a representative from C.I.A. as advisory committee members.
Section 7. That this Resolution shall become effective from the date of its
passage.
