RESOLUTION NO. 89-12
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB
WHEREAS, The Town of Trophy Club has recognized the need for major improvements
and new points of access to IH -35W in order to serve existing and projected
travel demand within the area between proposed SH 170 and SH 114 in Tarrant
County and Denton County; and
WHEREAS, new access to IH -35 at the proposed interchanges of Alliance Boulevard
and Eagle Parkway has been approved by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the improvements are needed to maintain safety and mobility along the
interstate in an area of rapidly increasing traffic volumes; and
WHEREAS, the presence of an effective roadway and highway system is important
to maintaining the competitiveness of existing area employers and attracting
new ones and encouraging economic development in the area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth, in cooperation with the State Department of
Highways and Public Transportation has completed an Environmental Assessment
which supports a finding that the proposed improvements will not have any
significant detrimental impact on the environment; and
WHEREAS, near term access requirements for the new Fort Worth Alliance Airport
necessitate that construction of these proposed interchanges begin as soon as
possible;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Trophy Club encourages the
Federal Highway Administration to concur in the finding of no significant
impact, thereby giving final environmental clearance to the project so that
construction of the new interchanges and oche- mprovements may begin as
soon as possible. /I
