RESOLUTION NO. 2000-40
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING CONTINUED
PARTICIPATION IN THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS NARCOTICS
TASK FORCE AND APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT BY AND
BETWEEN THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB AND DENTON
COUNTY, TEXAS; PROVIDING TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR
THE CONTINUATION OF THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
NARCOTICS TASK FORCE; AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTION BY
THE TOWN MANAGER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Chub, Texas, recognizes
that the best interests of the public are served by efficient and effective operation of its
criminal justice system; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council recognizes that this goal would be furthered by
the Town's continued participation in the North Central Texas Narcotics Task Force
("Task Force"), a vital portion of which is funded through the Office of the Governor,
Criminal Justice Division ("CJD"); and
WHEREAS, in order to obtain needed funding, the Town must submit a request
to the CJD for funding for the Task Force program for grant year 2001-2002; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club is aware that in the event of loss or
misuse of CJD funds, the Town Council of Trophy Club Texas assures that funds will be
returned to CDJ in full, as required by applicable law and grant guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the Town hereby pledges its proportionate share of the costs of the
project, as required; and
WHEREAS, the Town finds it serves the best interest of the public to submit
such a request for funding and to enter into an interagency participation agreement with
Denton County; and
WHEREAS, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 791 of the Texas
Government Code, authorizes governmental entities to contract with each other to
perform government functions and services under the terms thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has been presented a proposed Interlocal
Cooperation Agreement by and between the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, and Denton
County, Texas, providing terms and conditions for continuing participation in the North

Central Texas Narcotics Task Force, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto as
Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference (hereinafter called "Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, under the terms of the Agreement, both Denton County and Trophy
Club agree to contribute from their current revenues their proportionate share of matching
funds for the enhancement of the North Central Texas Narcotics Task Force; and
WHEREAS, upon full review and consideration of the Agreement, and all
matters attendant and related thereto, the Town Council is of the opinion that the terms
and conditions thereof should be approved, and that the Town Manager should be
authorized to execute it on behalf of the Town.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The Town finds it serves the best interest of the public and its
citizens to submit a request to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division to
assist in the funding of the program known as the "North Central Texas Narcotics Task
Force" for grant year 2001-2002.
Section 2. The Town Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
into the Agreement with Denton County, contingent upon the approval of such grant
application, the terns and conditions of the Agreement, having been reviewed by the
Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club and found to be acceptable and in the best
interest of the Town and its citizens, are hereby in all things approved.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement
and all other documents in connection therewith on behalf of the Town, substantially
according to the terms and conditions set forth in the Agreement.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas, this 5th day of December, 2000.
