RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 02
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF A
STEERING COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE THE POSSIBILITY OF
ENTERING INTO A JOINT USE AGREEMENT WITH THE
NORTHWEST INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE USE OF
THE SCHOOL LIBRARY AT MEDLIN MIDDLE SCHOOL; THE
COMMITTEE CONSISTING OF TEN MEMBERS AND A COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT STAFF LIAISON; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town is empowered under §51.001 of the Texas Local Government Code
to adopt a resolution that is for the good government of the Town;
WHEREAS, the Town has a substantial interest in the proper management and oversight of
the Town's community development resources;
WHEREAS, assistance in determining the most efficient means of providing necessary
governmental services will aid the Town Council and Staff in the proper management and oversight
of the Town's community development resources, and the delivery of quality services to the citizens
of the Town.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. The Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas does hereby authorize
the creation of a Library Joint Use Steering Committee.
Section 2. Library Joint Use Steering Committee shall consist of ten members to be
appointed by the Town Council. Said members shall serve at the pleasure of the Town Council.
Section 3. Members of the Library Joint Use Steering Committee shall serve until the
Joint Use Agreement with the Northwest School District is signed and implemented.
Section 4. The Town Mayor or his designee shall serve as liaison between the Town
Council and the Library Joint Use Steering Committee. As liaison, the Town Mayor or his designee
shall communicate directives from the Town Council to the Library Joint Use Steering Committee
and shall at the request of the Town Council submit reports on the project.

Section 5. The Library Joint Use Steering Committee shall advise the Town Council
concerning the most efficient means of providing joint use library services to the citizens of the
Town.
Section 6. At the direction of the Town Council, the Library Joint Use Steering
Committee shall consist of the Town Mayor or his designee, Three (3) Residents of the Town of
Trophy Club, the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum or her designee, the Medlin Middle
School Librarian or her designee, the Principle of Medlin Middle School or her designee, Assistant
Superintendent for Support Services or his designee, the Medlin Middle School PTA President or
designee and a Northwest Independent School District Board Member or designee.
Section 7. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its date of passage in
accordance with law.
