Minutes CCPD 08/26/2014MINUTES CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT MEETING FOR THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB LOCATION: 100 MUNICIPAL DRIVE, TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS August 26, 2014 at 7,00 PM Svore Municipal Building Board Room The Crime Control and Prevention District Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Special Session Joint Meeting with Town Council on August 26, 2414. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the public. STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF DENTON AND TARRANT § CCPD BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Timothy Gamache, Chairman Adam Broyles, Board Member J.J. Isherwood., Board Member Patrick Arata, Board Member Paul Glowacki, Board Member CCPD BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Dena Boudreau, Board Member STAFF AND GUEST(S) PRESENT: Scott Kniffen, Police Chief Janet Grunt, Administrative Assistant CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM Chairman Timothy Gamach e called the Special Session Joint Meeting with Town Council to order and announced a quorum at 6:55 PM, CITIZEN PRESENTATIONS Citizens are allowed three (3) minutes to address the Board regarding an item over which the Board has policy or oversight authority as provided by Texas Paw, the ethics order, or other policy order. There were no Citizen Presentations. Special Session Joint Meeting with Town Council I. Discussion with Town Council regarding the Board's proposed CCPD Budget for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 previously rejected by the Town Council; consider and take appropriate action to approve the CCPD Fiscal Year 2014-2015 budget with agreed amendments. Chief Kniffen provided an update to Council regarding the CCPD meeting on Wednesday, August 20, 2034 which was held to discuss Town Council's action on the CCPD Board's Budget for FY 2014-15, as well as amendments to CCPD budgeting priorities and crime control prevention plan. Following this update to Council, Chairman Timothy Gamache called for a motion to approve the CCPD Fiscal Year 2014-15 budget with additional amendments to reduce the amount budgeted for automated external defibrillators to $2900; to increase the line item amount for the purchase of eight total Tasers to $10,000; to reduce the budgeted amount for the Opticom Technology System to $4,000, and to move $3250 to the purchase of equipment to outfit vehicles with an additional radar system. 5o moved by Board Member Patrick Arata. Motion was seconded by Board Member J.J. Isherwood. Motion approved by a vote of 5-0. 2. Discuss and take appropriate action on a repeal of sales tax exemption on telecommunications services sold within the boundaries of the Crime Control and prevention District. Fallowing discussion regarding the repeal of sales tax exemption on telecommunications to provide additional revenues to the CCPD, Board Member J.J. Isherwood moved to approve an action to repeal the sales tax exemption on telecommunications. Motion was seconded by Board Member Paul Glowacki. Motion approved by a vote of 5-0. ADJOURN Board Member Paul Glowacki made a motion to adjourn at 7:08 PM. Motion seconded by Board member Adam Broyles. Motion approved by a vote of 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 7:08 PM.
