PROCLAMATION NO. 2018-03
A PROCLAMATION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, NAMING BARRY MEHAFFEY AS AN
HONORARY K-9 SERVICE DOG FOR THE DAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2018,
FOR THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Barry Mehaffey came from the Fort Worth Animal Shelter and is
under the care of Urgent Animals of Fort Worth Rescue; and
WHEREAS, Urgent Animals of Fort Worth Rescue believe that every animal
should have a home and a family before they pass on instead of being "unclaimed."
Barry went into a foster to adopt program and was adopted by The Mehaffey family;
and
WHEREAS, Barry is 16 years old and has testicular cancer that has spread
throughout his body; and
WHEREAS, Barry's cancer was deemed to be terminal and a Bucket List was
created to make his last days on earth memorable; and
WHEREAS, Barry is the sweetest most lovable dog ever and he has five furry
siblings that he adores and they love him tremendously; and
WHEREAS, part of Barry's Bucket List was to be named as an honorary K-9
Service Dog for the day; and
WHEREAS, Barry's favorite movie is K-9 Cop and the Town of Trophy Club is
honored to make Barry Mehaffey, a rescue dog, as an honorary K-9 Service Dog for the
day.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town
of Trophy Club, Texas, hereby names Barry Mehaffey as an honorary K-9 Service
Dog for the entire day on February 13, 2018.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas, this 13th day of February 2018.
