CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM
Chairman Opipare called to order the Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting for Thursday, January 11,
2018, at 6:00 p.m. and announced a quorum (4 members).
Board Members Present:
Chairman Louis Opipare, Jr.
Secretary John Murtaugh
Board Member Jeff Sims
Alternate Board Member Mark Hamil
Alternate Board Member Jack Ormond (arrived at 6:05PM, abstained from voting)
Board Members Absent:
Vice Chairman Joe Hennig
Board Member Sean Cannon
Staff and Guests Present:

CITIZEN PRESENTATIONS
Citizens are allowed four (4) minutes to address the Board regarding an item over which the
Board has policy or oversight authority as provided by Texas law, the ethics order, or other policy
order.
Chairman Opipare asked if there were any public requests to speak. No public requests were submitted.
REGULAR SESSION
2018-018-T Case ZBA-17-006 (309 Tenison Trail)
Discuss and take appropriate action regarding a request for a Special Exception to
Section 14.02.351(C)(1) of the Trophy Club Code of Ordinances regarding the front
setback requirement for fences, located at 309 Tenison Trail.
Chairman Opipare asked for Applicant comments. Gary Furnas, 309 Tenison Trail, Trophy Club spoke
and was available for questions. There was discussion regarding building the proposed wing wall in an
easement.
Chairman Opipare asked for the motion.
Motion made by Board Member Murtaugh, seconded by Board Member Hamil to approve a special
exception to the front setback requirement for fences with the condition that Town staff will verify that the
Town's Code of Ordinances does not prohibit a fence or wall from being constructed in an easement.
Motion passed unanimously.
Special Exception GRANTED.
Action is final.
2017-38-T Consider and take appropriate action regarding the October 12, 2017 Zoning Board
of Adjustment minutes.
Chairman Opipare asked for the motion.
Motion made by Alternate Board Member Hamil, seconded by Board Member Sims, to approve the
January 11, 2018 Zoning Board of Adjustment minutes.
Motion passed unanimously.

Chairman Opipare asked for a motion.
Motion made by Secretary Murtaugh, seconded by Alternate Board Member Hamil, to adjourn.
Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:18 p.m.
