Minutes Animal Shelter 04/21/2015MINUTES FROM REGULAR SESSION ANIMAL SHELTER BOARD FOR THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB LOCATION: 100 MUNICIPAL DRIVE, TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 6:30 P.M. Police Department Training Room The Animal Shelter Board for the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the public. STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF DENTON AND TARRANT BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Susan Edstrom, Chairman Tony Simmons -Municipal Official, Vice Chair Melissa Burns, Town Resident Dr. Bruce Fusselman, Veterinarian Danielle Stewart, Animal Welfare Representative Kelly Akin -ACO, Secretary BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: STAFF AND GUEST(S) PRESENT: CALLTO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM Chairman Edstrom called the meeting to order and announced a quorum a 6:30 p.m. CITIZEN PRESENTATIONS Citizens are allowed three (3) minutes to address the Board regarding an item over which the Board has policy or oversight authority as provided by Texas law, the ethics order, or other policy order. No citizens addressed the Commission. REGULAR SESSION 1. Discuss and take appropriate action regarding a proposed ordinance change for recommendation to Council. The Board discussed Ordinance amendments to present to Council with regard to the keeping of chickens and agreed that more information and research would need to be collected from similar municipalities, both permitting and prohibiting fowl. The Board discussed the recommendation and will plan to meet again on May 12, 2015 for the purpose of drafting the update for presentation to Council. 2. Chairman Susan Edstrom's update on dog park subcommittee. Chairman Edstrom discussed her position as a member with the Parks and Recreation Board's subcommittee tasked with implementing a possible keyless entry system for use by visitors to Freedom Dog Park for presentation to Council. The subcommittee also discussed imposing fees for guests of the park and access only to those whose pets were current with their vaccinations and registered with the Town. ADJOURN Chairman Edstrom, made a motion to adjourn at 7:22 PM; motion seconded by Vice Chair Simmons. Motion approved by a vote of 6-0. The me eti our a at 7:22 PM.
