Crime Control Prevention District Page 3 of 11 Meeting Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2014 MINUTES CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT MEETING FOR THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB LOCATION: 100 MUNICIPAL DRIVE, TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS August 6, 2014 at 7:00 PM Public Service Conference Room The Crime Control and Prevention District Board of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Regular Session on August 6, 2014. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the public. STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF DENTON AND TARRANT § BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Timothy Gamache, Chairman Dena Boudreau, Vice Chairman Adam Broyles, Board Member J.J. Isherwood, Board Member Patrick Arata, Board Member Paul Glowacki, Board Member BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Christopher Davis, Board Member STAFF AND GUEST(S) PRESENT: Scott Kniffen, Police Chief Janet Grunt, Administrative Assistant CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM Chairman Timothy Gamache called the meeting to order and announced a quorum at 7:03 PM. CITIZEN PRESENTATIONS Citizens are allowed three (3) minutes to address the Board regarding an item over which the Board has policy or oversight authority as provided by Texas law, the ethics order, or other policy order. There were no Citizen Presentations. REGULAR SESSION 1. Discuss and take appropriate action regarding the Trophy Club Crime Control and Prevention District Board Minutes for July 2, 2014. Chairman Timothy Gamache called for a review of the Minutes of the July 2, 2014 meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District; the Minutes were reviewed and a motion was made to accept the Minutes, as presented, by Board Member Patrick Arata. Motion seconded by Board Member J.J. Isherwood. Motion approved by a vote of 6-0. Crime Control Prevention District Page 4 of 11 Meeting Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2014 2. Consider and take appropriate action regarding interviews and Board recommendations for the appointment of persons to fill three (3) expiring seats on the Crime Control and Prevention District Board. Scheduled were: a. Mark Chapman (7:15 PM) b. Louis Opipare (7:30 PM) c. Dena Boudreau (7:45 PM) d. Paul Glowacki (8:00 PM) Candidate Mark Chapman had advised he would be out of town and unable to interview at this time. Board Member Adam Broyles made a motion to begin the interviewing with current Board Member Dena Boudreau. Motion seconded by Board Member Patrick Arata. Motion approved by a vote of 6-0. Following the interview of Board Member Dena Boudreau, Board Member Adam Broyles made a motion to continue the interviewing with current Board Member Paul Glowacki. Motion seconded by J.J. Isherwood. Motion approved by a vote of 6-0. Each of the two prospective candidates for re -appointment was interviewed regarding their background and experience and their reasons for desiring a position on the CCPD Board. Chairman Timothy Gamache then called for a short recess at 7:20 PM to await the arrival of Candidate Louis Opipare. Chairman Timothy Gamache called the meeting back to order at 7:45 PM, at which time Candidate Louis Opipare had not yet arrived. Following an attempt by Chief Kniffen to contact Candidate Louis Opipare without success, Board Member Patrick Arata made a motion to commence with the voting to fill two of the vacating Board positions with current Board Members Dena Boudreau and Paul Glowacki. Motion seconded by Board Member Adam Broyles. Motion approved by a vote of 6-0. The votes were cast and current Board Members Dena Boudreau and Paul Glowacki will be recommended to the Council to be reappointed to the CCPD Board. The remaining vacancy will be addressed in a future CCPD Board meeting. ADJOURN Board Member Paul Glowacki made a motion to adjourn at 7:55 PM. Motion seconded by Board Member J.J. Isherwood. Motion approved by a vote of 6-0. The meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM.
