Economic Development Corporation 4B 13 of 15 Monday, July 29, 2013 MINUTES OF WORKSHOP SESSION FOR THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION 4B BOARD LOCATION: ROBSON RANCH Wednesday, July 10, 2013 12:00 PM STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DENTON The Economic Development Corporation 4B of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, met in a Workshop Session on July 10, 2013. The meeting was held at Robson Ranch, located at 9400 Ed Robson Rd., Denton, Texas 76207. EDC 4B DIRECTORS PRESENT: James Hicks President Rebecca Shuman Vice President Sean Weaver Director Dave Brod Director Larry Mundy Director Directors Dean Murray and Randall Conn were not present due to work obligations. STAFF AND GUEST(S) PRESENT: Stephen Seidel Assistant Town Manager April Reiling PIO/Marketing Manager Brett Oliver Marketing Intern Greg Lamont Council Member Aryan Erwin Deloitte Facilitator Nicole Fox Deloitte Facilitator Call to order and announce a quorum. President Hicks, noting a quorum of EDC 4B, called the regular session to order at 12:22 p.m. STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP 1. Welcome and Introductions. The Deloitte Consultants were thanked by the EDC 4B Board and Town staff for offering consulting services at no cost to the Town. Each EDC 4B Director and staff member went through introductions with Deloitte Consultants using an icebreaker exercise. 2. Discuss the Objectives: - Moments that matter - Determine guiding principals for recruiting businesses - Decide the projects needed to uphold priorities - Develop action plans The Board went through a series of exercises to discuss overall strategic priorities, branding, action planning, and next steps. The Board ultimately established three key strategic priorities:  Retain/Maintain existing businesses  Target economic development that fits Trophy Club and the region Economic Development Corporation 4B 14 of 15 Monday, July 29, 2013  Recruit new economic development Adjourn Director Mundy moved to adjourn at 4:58 p.m. Director Brod seconded.
