Minutes P&Z 05/17/1988 - Special SessionMINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DENTON The Planning and Zoning Commission for the Town of Trophy Club met in Special Session on Tuesday, May 17th, 1988 at 7:15 P.M. The meeting was held at the Municipal Utility District Building, 100 Municipal Drive, Trophy Club, Texas. The meeting was held within the Town boundaries and was open to the Public. COMMISSION TO REVIEW AND CONSIDER REVISIONS TO THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB GOALS AND OBJECTIVES Discussion ensued. No action taken. This item will be on 6/16/88 agenda. COMMITTEE TO REVIEW AND CONSIDER MODIFICATIONS TO THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB SUB -DIVISION REGULATIONS Dan Boutwell, Town Planner, was asked -to gather all recommended amendments to the Sub -Division Regulations that have been made in the past and present them to the Planning and Zoning Commission at the Regular Meeting scheduled for June 16th, 1988. At that time, the Coromi,4sion`:will review and make a recommendation to the Town Council. COMMITTEE TO REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB SIGN ORDINANCE NO. 86-19 Tim Fleming, Town Building Official/Code Enforcement Officer, prepared a report for the Commission on Permanent or Temporary -Signs the Commission had approved and also listed signs that were Grandfathered and in the Towns Right -of -Ways. Mr. Fleming told the Commission he had contacted the Baptist Church in regards to taking their sign down. The:church will hold a meeting around May 29th, 1988 to discuss how the sign would be removed. Commissioner Kemp made a motion to have all signs located in the Town Right -of -Ways taken down. Commissioner Schaaf seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Jill Fiasconaro, P & Z Secretary,told,the Commission that these signs had been Grandfathered by Ordinance No. 86-19. CONTINUATION OF MINUTES (MAY 17TH;1988) PAGE 2 COMMISSION TO DISCUSS PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES Chaitman Hamper had asked Dan Boutwell to provide the Commission with a manuel on Standard Operating Procedures. Chairman Hamper feels that this is an area needing to be clarified as to what authority the Planning and Zoning Commission has. This item will be placed on the agenda at a later date. COMMISSION TO REVIEW AND CONSIDER POSSIBLE AMENDMENTS TO TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE: COMMERCIAL DISTRICT LANDSCAPING REQUIREMENTS Discussion ensued. No action taken. Commissioner Kardish asked Dan Boutwell to prepare an outline for landscaping requirements in parking lots of commercial zoned property. Commissioner Kardish also asked Mr. Boutwell to look into different setback requirements for different building heights. PRESENTATIONS BY COMMISSIONERS Commissioner Booker made a motion to pass a Resolution as follows: Workshop format will be altered to provide opportunity for public input at the end of a Workshop Session. Members from the Public will be given a limited amount of time to speak on each presentation. Such input will be noted and given consider- ation as appropriate. Commissioner Paige seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Booker made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Kemp'secondedJhe-motion. Motion carried unanimously. Chairman Secretary
