Minutes P&Z 09/21/1995MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DENTON The Planning and Zoning Commission for the Town of Trophy Club met in Regular Session on Thursday, September 21, 1995 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was held at the Municipal Utility District Building, 100 Municipal Drive, Trophy Club, Texas. The meeting was held within the Town boundaries and was open to the Public. Mike Hamper Vance Booker Don Cotton David Schaaf Chairman Co -Chairman Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Williams, Mayfield and Paige were unable to attend. Staff and Guest present were: Pauline Shaw P&Z Administrator Chris Campbell Pearson Brothers Roofing David Ford Trophy Roofing & Remodeling CALL TO ORDER Chairman Hamper called the meeting to order at 7:08 P.M. noting a quorum was present. He then welcomed the Commissioners, staff and guests. Chairman Hamper provided the audience with information regarding the prohibition of wood shingle roofs in Trophy Club. We are not against roofing companies. Applicants must meet four requirements to re -roof with wood shingles. 1. Properly executed warranty to be submitted with application. 2. Tags on shingles must certify grade I class c pressure impregnated with Fire retardate chemicals. 3. Notify building inspections at 817/430-1911 ext. 204 when shingles arrive on property before installation. 4. Certify applicant understands and fully complies with ordinance 94-13 by signing permit application. MR. OWEN CHERRY REQUEST PERMISSION TO RE -ROOF HIS HOME AT 106 FOREST HILL DRIVE (LOT 209, SECTION 3) WITH WOOD SHINGLES, AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. MR. CRAIG MARTIN REQUEST PERMISSION TO RE -ROOF HIS HOME AT 545 INDIAN Page 2, P&Z Minutes from 9/21/95 MR. CRAIG MARTIN REQUEST PERMISSION TO RE -ROOF HIS HOME AT 545 INDIAN CREEK DRIVE (LOT 1268, SECTION 10) WITH WOOD SHINGLES, AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. MR. JAMES P. CARTER REQUEST PERMISSION TO RE -ROOF HS HOME AT 204 FRESH MEADOW DRIVE (LOT 298, SECTION 3) WITH WOOD SHINGLES, AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. After hearing all three request, Commissioner Cotton made a motion to approve all three request for wood shingles provided however, all applicants meet the four requirements. Commissioner Booker seconded, motion passed with Chairman Hamper, Commissioner Booker and Commissioner Cotton for and Commissioner Schaaf opposed. Motion passed. ANY OTHER BUSINESS October 5, 1995 will be a workshop for the Planning and Zoning Commissioners. Chairman Hamper updated the Commissioners on the fence ordinance and the Council's actions. Chairman Hamper also updated the Commissioners on a variance request before the Zoning Board of Adjustment from a builder for a variance to the new setback for a portion of his garage. This is due to the shape of the lot with a cul-de-sac on one side and another cul-de-sac on the other. There being no further business to conduct, Commissioner Cotton made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 P.M. Commissioner Booker seconded; motion passed unanimously. Chairman Secretary
