Minutes P&Z 05/15/1997MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB STATE OF TEXAS § COUNTY OF DENTON § The Planning and Zoning Commission for the Town of Trophy Club met in Regular Session on Thursday, May 15, 1997 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was held at the Municipal Utility District Building, 100 Municipal Drive, Trophy Club, Texas. The meeting was held within the Town boundaries and was open to the Public. Staff and Guest present were: Pauline Shaw Planning & Zoning Administrator Dan Boutwell Municipal Planning Resources, Inc. Mac McLeod Lakeside Developer Tom Eyeington Representing N.W.I.S.D. Derek Cheatham Representing N.W.I. S.D. Doug Glaspell Council Member CALL TO ORDER Chairman Hamper called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. noting a quorum was present. He then welcomed Staff and Guests. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO CONSIDER AN ENTRY FEATURE FOR LAKESIDE AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. Chairman Hamper called upon Mr. McLeod to present the changes requested by the Planning and Zoning Commission. The Commissioners were pleased to see the changes requested. Chairman Hamper told Mr. McLeod that when lot six is sold, it will have to be replatted to show the common area as separate from lot six. Commissioner Schaaf made a motion to approve the entry feature for Lakeside as presented. Commissioner Williams seconded; motion passed unanimously. Page 2, P&Z Mtg. 5/15/97 PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO REVIEW TWO SITE PLANS FOR NORTHWEST INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT. Chairman Hamper informed the school representatives that to get a waiver for perimeter fencing they must apply to the Zoning Board of Adjustments. Commissioner Schaaf asked if the exterior lighting would be directed away from residential property? The response was yes. The dumpster for each school will be screened and sidewalks will be provided between schools. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO REVIEW FENCE ORDINANCE AT COUNCIL'S REQUEST AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. The Town Council had requested the Commission to review the fence ordinance regarding picket fences. After input from Council Member Glaspell, Commissioner Williams made a motion to withdraw this item from the agenda. Commissioner Reed seconded; motion passed unanimously. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO CONSIDER REVISING SIGN ORDINANCE AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. The issue with signs are how many names or issues may be on any sign; political signs on vehicles were addressed. The commission determined that no political vehicular signs are allowed. This does not include bumper stickers. The Commission feels that it doesn't matter if they are parked on the street or driving around as it pertains to signs. ANY OTHER BUSINESS There was no other business. There being no further business to discuss, Commissioner Schaaf made a motion to close the P&Z meeting at 9:00 p.m. Commissioner Gilliland seconded; motion passed unanimously. CHAIRMAN CRETARY
