The Planning and Zoning Commission met in a joint public session with the Town Council on Tuesday,
October 20, 1998. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the public.

CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM:
October 20,1998
A. TOWN COUNCIL: Mayor Carter called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. and
announced a quorum was present.
B. PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION: Chairman Hamper called the meeting to
order at 7:08 p.m. and announced a quorum was present.
JOINT PUBLIC SESSION
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO OPEN JOINT PUBLIC SESSION:
Commissioner Hill moved to open the joint public session with the Town Council at 7:49 p.m.
Commissioner Reed seconded; motion passed unanimously.
PRESENTATION TO THE TOWN COUNCIL REGARDING THE PATHWAYS PLAN:
Mike Hamper, Chairperson of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Dan Boutwell, Town Planner and
Barry Hudson, MPRG Staff Planner presented the Pathways Plan to the Town Council.
Presentations were made, questions answered and concerns addressed.
TOWN COUNCIL TO DISCUSS AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION REGARDING
ADOPTING THE PATHWAY PLAN AS A PART OF THE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE
PLAN:
Following discussion between the Town Council, residents and the Planning and Zoning Commission
Mayor Pro Tem Engelbeck moved to adopt by ordinance the Pathway Plan as a part of the
Comprehensive Land Use Plan. Council Member McCabe seconded; motion passed unanimously.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO ADJOURN JOINT PUBLIC SESSION WITH
THE TOWN COUNCIL:
Commissioner Hill moved to adjourn the joint public session with the Town Council at 9:25 p.m.
Commissioner Gilliland seconded; motion passed unanimously.
