Town Manager Norwood and Finance Director, Mike Erwin, expect us to be able to use 100%of CCPD budget next year. Almost all of operational/general fund is in CCPD now. Tax revenue is up some which should help with cost increases. As of budget this current year,we purchased three cars. Covid has had some effect on things like training/firearms (things with a gathering). Second half of year should be better for qualifications, ammo, etc. An approval for budget will be brought before Council after the next meeting and presentations will be presented. Item closed by Chairperson Isherwood. 3. Police Department update. Chief Arata gave update on Police Department. A new officer was recently hired with six years' experience. This will bring the total number of officers to 21 (one officer was recently moved to the Juvenile Detective position). The recognition audit will start at the beginning of June. Captain Tillman has taken this program over since Sergeant Simmons retired. Special Events are picking up again—TCWC Art&Garden Festival to be held at PD Thirty will be at the beginning of May. July 4th Event will probably be the full event,as in the past. PD has a new car on the lot, with updated graphics.
