AN ORDINANCE OF THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN COUNCIL
CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF EARLY VOTING BALLOTS CAST
AND ELECTION DAY BALLOTS CAST IN CONNECTION WITH THE
TROPHY CLUB SPECIAL ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 2, 2021 AND
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION ELECTING
ONE (1) COUNCILMEMBER FOR PLACE 2 TO THE TOWN COUNCIL
TO FILL THE REMAINDER OF AN UNEXPIRED TERM OF OFFICE
CREATED BY A VACANCY WITH A TERM EXPIRING MAY 2023 AND
THE ELECTION OF ONE (1) COUNCILMEMBER FOR PLACE 5 TO
THE TOWN COUNCIL TO FILL THE REMAINDER OF AN UNEXPIRED
TERM OF OFFICE CREATED BY A VACANCY WITH A TERM
EXPIRING MAY 2022; PROVIDING FOR THE INCORPORATION OF
PREMISES; PROVIDING FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF VOTE
TABULATIONS; IDENTIFYING THE OFFICIALS ELECTED AND TERM
OF OFFICE; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF THE CANVASS OF
THE SPECIAL ELECTION; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF
CERTIFICATES OF ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT
AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on August 24, 2021 the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas (the "Town") passed and approved Ordinance No. 2021-17, ordering a Special
Election for the purpose of electing one (1) Councilmember for Place 2 to the Town
Council to fill the remainder of an unexpired term of office created by a vacancy with a
term expiring May 2023 and one (1) Councilmember for Place 5 to fill the remainder of
an unexpired term of office created by a vacancy with a term expiring May 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Town Secretary posted and published, in accordance with the
election laws of the State of Texas, notice of the Special Election; and
WHEREAS, the Special Election was held on November 2, 2021, in accordance
with the Election Code of the State of Texas, and the results of the Early Voting and
Election Day have been certified; and
WHEREAS, the official returns of the Special Election are related to the election
of one (1) Councilmember for Place 2 to the Town Council to fill the remainder of an
unexpired term of office created by a vacancy with a term expiring May 2023 and one
(1) Councilmember for Place 5 to the Town Council to fill the remainder of an unexpired
term of office created by a vacancy with a term expiring May 2022 have been presented
to the Town Council acting as the Canvassing Board; and
WHEREAS, the returns of the Special Election showed that Early Voting and
Election Day ballots were cast as shown in Exhibit A for Denton County and Exhibit A
for Tarrant County.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Home Rule Charter, the candidate for election to
each Place on the Council, who receives a majority of all votes cast for all the
candidates for such Place at the election, shall be declared elected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TROPHY CLUB TOWN
COUNCIL:
Section 1. Incorporation of Premises. The above and foregoing premises are
true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this Ordinance and made a part
hereof for all purposes.
Section 2. Confirmation of Vote Tabulations. The results of the Special
Election related to the election of one (1) Councilmember for Place 2 to fill the
remainder of an unexpired term of office created by a vacancy with a term expiring May
2023 and one (1) Councilmember for Place 5 to the Town Council to fill the remainder of
an unexpired term of office created by a vacancy with a term expiring May 2022, as
canvassed and tabulated above, reflect the expressed desires of the residents that are
qualified voters of the Town.
Section 3. Elected Official and Term of Office. In accordance with the
canvass and tabulation of the results of the Special Election, the duly elected
Councilmembers elected on November 2, 2021, and their corresponding term of office
are subject to the taking of the Statement and Oath of Office as required by State Law,
are as follows:

Section 4. Issuance of Certificate of Election. The Mayor, or her designee, is
hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the Certificate of Election to the
successful candidates elected at the Special Election.
Section 5. Issuance of Canvass of the Special Election. The Mayor and
Council accepts the results of the Canvass of the Special Election, as provided in
Exhibit A.
Section 6. Engrossment and Enrollment. The Town Secretary of the Town of
Trophy Club is hereby directed to engross and enroll this Ordinance by filing this
Ordinance in the ordinance records of the Town as required in the Town Charter.
Section 7. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its
date of passage in accordance with law, and it is so ordained.
