Staff presentation and discussion on sale and use of remaining bond debt
for street reconstruction projects, financing costs for bond sale and the tax
impact of bond sale.
Explanation: In July 2000, the Trophy Club voters approved $6.26 million of bond funds for the
reconstruction of a number of roads in Trophy Club. Since that time $3 million in bonds have been sold
and utilized for road reconstruction projects.
On August 21st the Town Council viewed a presentation from Town staff and the Public Works Advisory
Group on the need to sell the remaining $3.26 million in voter-approved bonds. The sale of these bonds
will fund two additional phases of reconstruction projects. Phase I is a section of Trophy Club Drive from
Century Court to Oakmont Drive, Greenleaf Drive from Timberline Drive to Timberline Drive (loop) and
Timberline Drive from Indian Creek Drive to Greenleaf Drive. Phase II will be comprised of streets
identified in the original analysis, and as construction of phase I nears completion, these streets’ condition
will be reevaluated before inclusion into Phase II.
