Minutes TC 02/20/1990MINUTES OF TOWN COUNCIL MEETING TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB FEBRUARY 20, 1990 THE STATE OF TEXAS ) > COUNTY OF DENTON ) The Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club met in Regular Session on Tuesday, February 20, 1990. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the Public. Jim Carter George Doran Marilyn Hallgren Terry Vance Marshal Engelbeck Bob Sylvia Mayor Mayor Pro Tem Council Member Council Member Council Member Council Member Also present were members of the Town staff: John Hill Jack Jacobs Donna Welsh Attorney Treasurer Administrator Mayor Carter called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The Invocation was given by Assistant Scoutmaster Eldon Reed of Troop 328. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Troop 32B. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES Mayor Pro Tem Doran made a motion to approve the minutes as amended, Council Member Vance seconded, motion carried unanimously. PRESENTATIONS BY CITIZENS - None PRESENTATIONS BY COUNCIL Council Member Sylvia welcomed Scout Troop 328, several representatives from the City of Marshal Creek and Commissioner Lee Walker. "Denton County Judge Vic Burgess was also present". Council Member Vance asked about the status of the street repairs at Trophy Club Drive near the fire station. Mayor Pro Tem Doran stated they were still under repair but near completion. Council Member Vance also reported that Matt Hendricksen, one of the members of the Scout Troop will be building benches for the softball field at Harmony Park as his eagle scout project. The staff reports are filed with the minutes of this meeting. Council Member Sylvia made a motion to approve the January financial statements, Mayor Pro Tem Doran seconded, motion carried unanimously. Mayor Carter reported that Metroport was hosting a forum on May 9th that will address real estate in the area. The meeting will be held at the Grapevine Convention Center and lunch will be served at noon. Several notable people will be in attendance including the President of the Board of Governors, Gib Lewis. Mayor Carter will follow up with details as available. Mr. Roger Unger, member of the Public Safety Committee, read a statement to the Council from the Committee. In the statement, the committee withdrew their recommendation for a pedestrian lane on the existing roadways. Mr. Unger reported the committee received an overwhelming response to the survey concerning the pedestrian lane. CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING RATE SCHEDULES AND SERVICE REGULATIONS FOR TEXAS UTILITIES ELECTRIC COMPANY, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFORE, PROVIDING CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH TARE SCHEDULES AND SERVICE REGULATIONS MAY BE CHANGED, MODIFIED, AMENDED OR WITHDRAWN, AND FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE IS PASSED IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Council Member Sylvia made a motion to approve the ordinance as written, Mayor Pro Tem Doran seconded, motion carried with Council Member Vance opposing. Page 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS APPOINTING BRAD BRADLEY AS ALTERNATIVE MUNICIPAL JUDGE TO SERVE AS MUNICIPAL JUDGE IN THE EVENT THE MUNICIPAL JUDGE IS TEMPORARILY UNABLE TO ACT; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Council Member Vance made a motion to approve the resolution as written, Council Member Hallgren seconded, motion carried unanimously. FINANCE COMMITTEE TO RECOMMEND AMENDMENTS TO THE PARK BUDGET. Council Member Sylvia made a motion to transfer $7,300.00 from contingency to the park budget, Mayor Pro Tem Doran seconded, motion carried unanimously. A copy of the "Reconciliation of Proposed Budget Increase" outlining the line item breakdowns is filed with the minutes of this meeting.
