Minutes TC 09/23/1991 - Public HearingMINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE TAX INCREASE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF DENTON The Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas met in a public hearing on Monday, September 23, 1991. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the Public. Terry Vance Doug Glaspell Gene Hill Cotton Moore Mayor Pro Tem Council Member Council Member Council Member Mayor Jim Carter and Council Member Engelbeck were unable to attend the meeting. Also present were members of the Town staff and Finance Committee: John Carter Chairman, Finance Committee Jim Nuber Finance Committee Member John Hill Town Attorney Jack Jacobs Town Treasurer Cindy Kelly Town Secretary Pauline Shaw Director of Public Works Donna Welsh Town Manager CALL TO ORDER Mayor Pro Tem Vance called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Vance read the following statement from Mayor Carter: "Please accept my apology for missing tonight's meetings. In the past 6 1/2 years that I have been Mayor, I have only been absent twice. On both of those occasions I was representing the Town. Tonight's absence has the same connotation. I am meeting with State Officials which has favorable benefits to the Town. Good luck on your meetings tonight." INVOCATION Councilman Moore gave the invocation. PLEDGES OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE AMERICAN AND TEXAS FLAGS Council Member Glaspell led in the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag. Town Treasurer Jack Jacobs led in the pledge of allegiance to the Texas Flag. Page 2, Public Hearing, 09/23/91 PUBLIC HEARING: THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB WILL CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSAL FOR A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE. Town Treasurer Jack Jacobs briefly reviewed the following tax rates per $100 valuation: Effective rate .2590 Proposed rate .2796 Rollback rate .2797 There were no residents in attendance who wished to address the council regarding the tax increase.
