Minutes TC 09/27/1991MINUTES OF TOWN COUNCIL MEETING TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS THE STATE OF TEXAS ) COUNTY OF DENTON ) The Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas met in regular session on Friday, September 27, 1991. The meeting was held within the boundaries of the Town and was open to the Public. James P. Carter Mayor Jack Jacobs Marshall Engelbeck Council Member Doug Glaspell Council Member Gene Hill Council Member Cotton Moore Council Member Mayor Pro Tem Vance was unable to attend the meeting. Also present were members of the Town staff: Don Franklin Chief of Police Jack Jacobs Town Treasurer Cindy Kelly Town Secretary Donna Welsh Town Administrator CALL TO ORDER Mayor James P. Carter called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. INVOCATION Council Member Moore gave the invocation. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE AMERICAN AND TEXAS FLAGS. Town Treasurer Jack Jacobs led in the pledges of allegiance to the American and Texas Flags. TOWN COUNCIL TO CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND LEVYING MUNICIPAL AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1991 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1992, AND FOR EACH FISCAL YEAR THEREAFTER UNTIL OTHERWISE PROVIDED, AT A RATE OF $ .2796 PER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) ASSESSED VALUATION ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN AS OF JANUARY 1, 1991. Council Member Hill made a motion to fix and levy the Town's ad valorem tax for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1991 and ending September 30, 1992 and for each fiscal year Page 2, Council Meeting, 09/27/91 thereafter until otherwise provided at a rate of $. 2796 per one hundred dollars assessed valuation on all taxable property within the corporate limits of the Town of Trophy Club. Council Member Moore seconded; motion passed unanimously. TOWN COUNCIL TO CONSIDER APPROVING AN EXPENDITURE OF $3,512.00 FROM THE TOWN'S CONTINGENCY FUND FOR THE INSTALLATION OF POLICE PHONE LINES AT THE FIRE STATION. Council Member Engelbeck asked District Manager Roger Unger how long the Town would be able to maintain police offices rent-free in the Fire Station. Mr. Unger replied that the Town would be able to use the offices rent free for an indefinite period of time, or as long as the Town required the space. Councilman Engelbeck made a motion to approve the expenditure of #3,512 from the Town's contingency fund to have phone lines installed in the Fire Station for the police offices.
