RES 1986-02A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS PROVIDING
FOR THE TOWN TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF DUES;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Texas has identified the
North Central Texas region, consisting of the 16 Counties of Collin, Dallas,
Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto,
Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant and Wise as a State planning region for
purposes of sub -state regional planning; and
WHEREAS, the local governments of North Central Texas, including
cities, counties, school districts and special districts, in 1966, created
the North Central Texas Council of Governments in response to their common
interests and concerns and the need for a joint approach to resolve areawide
problems; and
WHEREAS, this voluntary, cooperative venture was intended to help
local governments improve their capability to serve their citizens by
defining regional issues, problems and opportunities; by setting priorities
and devising policies, plans and programs to deal with them; and by
achieving efficient and effective action on areawide matters and related
actions in order to insure the orderly growth and development of the region.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and
correct and are incorporated into the body of this Resolution as if copied
in their entirety.
Section 2. That the Town of Trophy Club, Texas desires to become a
participating member of the North Central Texas Council of Goverment
(NCTCOG) created for the purposes set out above, and hereby applies for
membership in said organization by the passage and submission of this
Resolution. The Town recognizes that, by virtue of its membership in
NCTCOG, it will receive the benefits outlined above and the benefits flowing
from the activities of NCTCOG outlined in its Bylaws.
Section 3. That the Town agrees, as a member of NCTCOG, to pay all
necessary dues.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall be effective from and after
its date of adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas this the 26 day of May , 1986.
