RES 1988-17TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB,
TEXAS SUPPORTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW
CONTROLLED ACCESS FREEWAY ON THE NORTHERN
ALIGNMENT CONNECTING INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35W
AND STATE HIGHWAY 114; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club,
Texas has recognized the need for a new east/west freeway
connecting Interstate Highway 35W and State Hwy. 114; and
WHEREAS, the construction of a new controlled access
freeway was authorized by the State Highway and Public
Transportation Commission in Minute Order 86417 dated
October 28, 1988;
WHEREAS, this new freeway has been designated as State
Highway 170; and
WHEREAS, the construction of State Highway 170 would
provide improved mobility to the expanding population and
employment base in north Tarrant and South Denton Counties; and
WHEREAS, State Highway 170 would provide a vital
transportation link connecting Dallas -Fort Worth International
Airport with the new Fort Worth Alliance Airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to
be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this
resolution as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the Town Council of the Town of Trophy
Club has reviewed the alternate alignments for State Highway
170 between Interstate Highway 35W and State Highway 114 and
supports the construction of a controlled access freeway on the
northern alignment (Alternative A).
Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective
from and after its date of passage.
