RESOLUTION NO. 98-14
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS ESTABLISHING A SIX -
MEMBER COMMITTEE TO REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE
TOWN MANAGER AND TO BE KNOWN AS "THE
RECREATION LAND ACQUISITION COMMITTEE" TO
PURSUE THE ACQUISITION OF THE NECESSARY CORPS
OF ENGINEERS PROPERTY TO SUPPORT FUTURE
TOWN RECREATIONAL FACILITIES; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, it is recognized that current land being used for baseball activities at
McCombs field is being taken for the purpose of development thereby leaving the Town with
inadequate space to support baseball and/or other recreational activities; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that a permanent allocation of land currently controlled by
the Corps of Engineers represents the best long-term solution for the future requirements of the
Town's recreation facilities; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that an urgent need exists in acquiring the necessary land
from the Corps of Engineers as soon as possible so as not to disrupt recreational activity
schedules; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that an environmental impact study must be funded and

completed prior to gaining access to Corps of Engineers property; and
WHEREAS, the committee shall be appointed by the Town Manager and Mayor. The
Planning and Zoning Representative will act as Chairperson of this committee. In addition, one
member each shall be appointed from the Finance and Parks and Recreation Committees. The
remaining appointments will be made on the basis of skills required to work with Federal and
State agencies and programs; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Land Acquisition Committee shall be seated until its work
is concluded in acquiring the necessary land in order to meet the Town's future requirements

or until the Town Manager and Mayor agree that the Committee's work is concluded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS that the Town of Trophy Club shall create a special
Committee to pursue the acquisition of the necessary Corps of Engineers property to support
future Town recreational facilities, as set out more particularly as follows:

1. Name. The name of the Committee shall be The Recreation Land Acquisition
Committee and may be hereafter referred to as "the Committee."
2. Members. The Committee shall consist of six (6) members to be named by the
Town Manager and the Mayor as follows:
a. Planning and Zoning Representative (Chair)
b. Finance Committee member
C. Parks and Recreation Committee member
d. open to person with knowledge of federal and state agencies and programs
e. open to person with knowledge of federal and state agencies and programs
f. open to person with knowledge of federal and state agencies and programs
3. Term. The Committee shall be seated until its work is concluded in acquiring
the necessary land or until the Town Manager and Mayor agree that the Committee's work is
concluded.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas,
this 4th day of August, 1998.
