RESOLUTION NO. 1999-06
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, REQUESTING THE TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO EXPEDITE ITS PLAN
FOR THE WIDENING OF STATE HIGHWAY 114 FROM
INTERSTATE 35W TO HIGHWAY 287; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that the traffic on State Highway 114 is increasing at an
alarming rate; and
WHEREAS, this major highway remains a two-lane road which carries over thirty percent (30%) of
truck traffic supplying aggregate to the Metroplex; and
WHEREAS, development in this area continues to make greater demands on this transportation
corridor; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the Town of Trophy Club must continue to use and cross this hazardous
road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. The above premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body
of this Resolution as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. The Town Council calls for an expedited and concerted effort on the part of the Texas
Department of Transportation to complete the Plan for the widening of State Highway 114 from Interstate
35W to Highway 287, purchase of the right-of-way for the project, and proceed to final design and
implementation of the plan with all possible dispatch.
Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval, and it is
so resolved.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, this
