RESOLUTION NO. 1999-34
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB, TEXAS DIRECTING THE UTILITY FRANCHISE TASKFORCE IN
COOPERATION WITH THE TOWN COUNCIL TO MAKE PREPARATION
FOR AND TO CONDUCT COMMUNITY SURVEYS AND PUBLIC HEARINGS
AND FOCUS GROUPS TO RECEIVE CITIZEN INPUT PERTAINING TO THE
TOWN'S CABLE RELATED NEEDS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town is empowered under §51.001 of the Texas Local Government
Code to adopt an ordinance or rule that is for the good government of the Town;
WHEREAS, the Town Council has directed the Utility Franchise Taskforce to examine
the quality of service extended by the Town's current cable operator;
WHEREAS, the Town Council has directed the Utility Franchise Taskforce to study the
future cable related needs of the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Utility Franchise Taskforce can best accomplish this role by soliciting
input from the citizens of the Town of Trophy Club;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That in cooperation with the Town Council and Town staff, the Utility
Franchise Taskforce is hereby directed to prepare and conduct community wide surveys
pertaining to cable service in the Town.
Section 2. That in cooperation with the Town Council and Town Staff, the Utility
Franchise Taskforce is hereby directed to conduct public hearings and focus groups wherein
citizens have an opportunity to address the Town's cable related needs.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its date of passage in
accordance with law.
