RESOLUTION NO. 2000-02
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS GUARANTYING AN
AMBULANCE NOTE BY THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB AND THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE FOR THE
TROPHY CLUB/WESTLAKE DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC SAFETY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY 2, 2000.
WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club, the Town of Westlake, Trophy Club
Municipal Utility District #1 and Trophy Club Municipal Utility District #2 (collectively
referred to as the "Participating Entities"), have entered into a Contract to create the
Trophy Club/Westlake Department of Public Safety (the "DPS") for the purpose of
providing the Participating Entities with the goverrnnental functions and services relating
to police protection, municipal court services, fire protection and emergency medical
services; and
WHEREAS, the Participating Entities, pursuant to the Contract, provide for the
operation of the Trophy Club/Westlake Department of Public Safety under the
supervision of a special board, known as the Trophy Club/Westlake Department of Public
Safety Board (the "Board") subject to the review and approval of the governing bodies of
the Participating Entities; and
WHEREAS, the Participating Entities authorized the Board to perform certain
governmental functions that each Participating Entity would be authorized to perform
individually; and
WHEREAS, the Board has no method to generate revenues except by the
contributions of the Participating Entities;
WHEREAS, the Board is purchasing a new ambulance and intends to borrow
funds for this purchase;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolves as follows:
A. That the Board is hereby authorized to borrow the funds to purchase an
ambulance.
B. In the event of default, the Town of Trophy Club and the Town of
Westlake jointly and severably guarantee repayment of the note.
This Resolution is hereby introduced and adopted by the Participant on the Ist
day of February, 2000.
