RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -05
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB, TEXAS, FINDING THAT THE INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY
114 BYPASS ROAD AND STATE HIGHWAY 114 (BUSINESS) IS DESIGNED IN
SUCH A MANNER AS TO PRESENT A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO
THE CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Council recognizes that dangerous intersections present serious
safety hazards to all citizens;
WHEREAS, recent population growth in and around the Town of Trophy Club has
caused an increase in both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation recently opened the intersection at State
Highway 114 Business and the State Highway 114 bypass road; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that the design of said intersection presents a clear
and present danger to the citizens of the Town of Trophy Club.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the engineering and design of the intersection of State Highway 114
Business and the State Highway 114 bypass road is defective;
Section 2. That the intersection of State Highway 114 Business and the State
Highway 114 bypass road presents a clear and present danger to the
citizens of the Town of Trophy Club; and
Section 3. That the Town Council recognizes and wishes to express the necessity for
an alternative design of said intersection that will provide an optimum
level of safety for the citizens of the Town.
Section 4. That this resolution shall become effective from and after its date of
passage in accordance with law.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas
this 7th day of March, 2000.
