RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - 06
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS CALLING A PUBLIC
HEARING FOR APRIL 18, 2000, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
RECEIVING PUBLIC INPUT ON THE QUESTION OF
WHETHER THE VOTERS OF THE TOWN SHOULD
ADOPT AN INCREASE IN THE SALES AND USE TAX OF
ONE HALF OF ONE PERCENT FOR THE PROMOTION
AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW AND EXPENDED
BUSINESS ENTERPRISES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Council has called an election for May 6, 2000;
WHEREAS, at said election voters will decide whether to adopt an additional sales and
use tax of one-half of one percent, and whether the proceeds of such tax should be dedicated to
park and recreation facilities;
WHEREAS, Section 4A of the Development Corporation Act of 1979, V.A.T.C.S.
Article 5190.6 (Act) authorizes a municipality to hold an election on the questions whether a
corporation created under Section 4A of the Act may use tax revenues toward projects that
qualify under Section 4B of the Act.
WHEREAS, prior to an election the Town must hold a public hearing to inform the
residence of the Town of the cost and impact of the projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That a public hearing on the aforesaid matter shall be held on April 18,
2000, at 7:30 p.m. in the Trophy Club, Municipal Utility District Building.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall become effective from and after its date of
passage in accordance with law.
