RESOLUTION NO. 2001 - 01
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB, TEXAS, ADOPTING A BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE
HANDBOOK ESTABLISHING APPOINTMENT PROCEDURES,
IDENTIFYING BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES; DEFINING
NEPOTISM; ESTABLISHING GUIDELINES FOR MEMBERS; DEFINING
RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHAIRPERSONS, COUNCIL LIAISONS, AND
STAFF LIAISONS; PROVIDING GUIDELINES FOR EFFECTIVE
MEETINGS; OUTLINING TEXAS OPEN MEETINGS ACT
REQUIREMENTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town benefits by having its citizens involved in local government
through service on Town Committees; and
WHEREAS, the Town has established several boards, commissions and committees that
perform various functions for the Town; and
WHEREAS, in order to create consistency in practices, the Town Council finds that it is
in the Town's best interest to establish guidelines and procedures for boards, commissions and
committees to utilize when conducting meetings and when generally performing their duties; and
WHEREAS, the guidelines established in the "Boards, Commissions and Committees
Handbook" (hereinafter "Handbook") are in addition to those requirements imposed by the
Texas Open Meetings Act; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1: That it is in the best interest of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, to adopt
the proposed Handbook.
Section 2. That the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, authorizes the adoption of the
"Board, Commission & Committee Handbook," and that a true and correct copy of the
Handbook is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A".
Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective from and after its date of
passage in accordance with law.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas,
this 2nd day of January 2001.
