RESOLUTION NO. 2001-31
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS, RATIFYING THE DECISION OF A
MAJORITY OF THE TOWN COUNCIL AT ITS OCTOBER 15, 2001
MEETING TO APPROVE THE CONTINUATION OF A MONTHLY
TOWN COUNCIL COMMUNICATION BOOTH AT THE TOM THUMB
PLAZA IN THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB; ESTABLISHING HOURS
OF OPERATION; PROVIDING FOR COUNCIL REVIEW OF
CONTINUATION OF THE BOOTH EVERY SIX (6) MONTHS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas (the "Town") is
empowered under Texas Local Government Code Section 51.001 to adopt a resolution or rule
that is for the good government of the Town;
WHEREAS, designating a time when the greatest and most diverse number of residents
is available to provide council interaction is a difficult task;
WHEREAS, providing a small booth (table and chairs) at the Tom Thumb store on the
Sunday prior to regularly scheduled Council meetings each month from 1:30 p.m. until 4:00
p.m. will provide an excellent and convenient time for Council interaction with residents;
WHEREAS, the Manager of the Tom Thumb has approved the placement of such booth
at the Trophy Club location;
WHEREAS, the booth can be staffed with one (1) or two (2) Town Council members on
a voluntary rotating basis during the times set forth above;
WHEREAS, a resident Comment/Questionnaire form can be provided to allow residents
to specifically identify areas of concern;
WHEREAS, any comments or concerns can be typed and electronically mailed to
appropriate staff members for input, resolution, or placement on a Council Agenda;
WHEREAS, the Town Council had previously approved the creation of the Council
Communication Booth on a trial basis for a ninety day period which ended October 1, 2001; and
WHEREAS, at the October 15, 2001 meeting of the Town Council, the Council voted to
continue the operation of the Communication Booth and to review the continuation of the Booth
every six (6) months, beginning October 15, 2001.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the recitals contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
determined to be true and correct and are hereby adopted as a part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That at its October 15, 2001 meeting, a majority of the Town Council
voted to continue the operation of the Council Communication Booth at the Tom Thumb store in
the Town of Trophy Club, Texas, with a review of such continuation every six months,
beginning October 15, 2001; and
Section 3. That the hours of operation of the Council Communication Booth will be
from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Sunday prior to a regularly scheduled Council meeting each
month.
Section 4. That the Town Council hereby ratifies the action taken at its October 15,
2001 meeting and that the Communication Booth will continue to operate as provided herein.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall become effective from and after its date of
passage in accordance with law, and it is so resolved.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Trlub, Texas,
