RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 15
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS
AUTHORIZING THE ABOLITION OF THE LOCAL OPTION ELECTION COMMITTEE
COMMENDING THE COMMITTEE FOR ITS SERVICE TO THE TOWN; AND PROVIDING Ar
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on August 19, 2002, the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas (the "Town"),
created the Local Option Election Committee for the purpose of providing information related to the proposed local
option election to the residents of the Town .
WHEREAS, during its six months of service, the Local Option Election Committee (the "LOE Committee")
has served the Town well by providing quality communication to the residents and Council by apprising them of the
Committee's activities and the actions of the State Legislature;
WHEREAS, a political action committee has been formed by third parties and the political action committee
is not associated with the Town as a "Town" committee operating in compliance with the Board, Commission and
Committee Handbook that governs the actions of groups appointed by the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, since the political action committee has been created, the members of the LOE Committee
have recommended the abolition of the Local Option Election Committee;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. The Town Council commends the members of the Local Option Election Com nittee for their
:fforts and services provided over the past six months.
Section 3. The Local Option Election Committee is hereby abolished.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its date of passage in accordance with law.
