RES 2003-23TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 23 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, HEREBY SUPPORTING THE CREATION OF AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR THE FORMATION OF A JOINT PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN BETWEEN THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB AND THE NORTHWEST INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITIES OF AURORA, FORT WORTH, HASLET, JUSTIN, NEWARK, NEW FAIRVIEW, NORTHLAKE, RHOME, AND ROANOKE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club, pursuant to the authority granted by Article 791, et seq. of the Interlocal Cooperation Act, as amended, expresses its support for, and desire to participate in, a Joint Parks and Recreation Master Plan with The Northwest Independent School District and the cities of Aurora, Fort Worth, Haslet, Justin, Newark, New Fairview, Northlake, Rhome, and Roanoke; WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club has chosen to support the creation of an Interlocal Agreement for the formation of a Joint Parks and Recreation Master Plan, a program created by local governments in accordance with, and pursuant to, the Interlocal Cooperation Act ("Act"), Chapter 791, Texas Government Code, with the Northwest Independent School District; and the cities of Aurora, Fort Worth, Haslet, Justin, Newark, New Fairview, Northlake, Rhome, and Roanoke; WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club, is of the opinion that the creation of an Interlocal Agreement for the formation of a Joint Parks and Recreation Master Plan will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers and residents of the local governments; WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club desires to participate and join with other local governments in a cooperative Interlocal agreement ("Agreement") for the purpose of fulfilling and implementing their respective public and governmental purposes, needs, objectives, programs, functions and services; and WHEREAS, the Town of Trophy Club believes the formation of a Joint Parks and Recreation Master Plan will: 1) improve the quality of life for the residents in the various communities; 2) encourage and provide opportunities for leisure activities to enhance physical and mental development of the residents in the various communities; and 3) enhance economic development in the various communities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS Page 1 SECTION 1: The findings set forth above are incorporated into the body of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein. SECTION 2: The execution of this Resolution shall evidence the support of the Town of Trophy Club for the creation of an Interlocal Agreement for the formation of a Joint Parks and Recreation Master Plan, a program created by local governments in accordance with, and pursuant to, the Interlocal Cooperation Act ("Act"), Chapter 791, Texas Government Code, with the Northwest Independent School District and the cities of Aurora, Fort Worth, Haslet, Justin, Newark, New Fairview, Northlake, Rhome, and Roanoke; SECTION 3: The execution of this Resolution shall evidence the support of the Town of Trophy Club for the creation of an Interlocal Agreement for the formation of a Joint Parks and Recreation Master Plan for the purposes outlined herein; to be approved at a later date and SECTION 4: This Resolution shall take effect i RESOLVED THIS THE 7th day of July, 2003.
