RESOLUTION NO. 2003 — 45
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY
CLUB, TEXAS REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2002-18 CREATING A
PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE AND ESTABLISHING DUTIES AND
PROCEDURES FOR SAME; COMMENDING THE PUBLIC SAFETY
COMMITTEE FOR ITS SERVICE TO THE TOWN; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 17, 2002, the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club
adopted Resolution 2002-18, Texas, creating a Public Safety Committee; and
WHEREAS, during its seventeen month tenure, the Public Safety Committee has
served the Town well by providing quality recommendations and guidance to Council and by
assisting with the growth of the Town's Public Safety Services; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 2002-18, provided for the creation of the Public Safety
Committee, membership, terms of office, chair -person, obligation and duties of committees,
conduct of meetings and removal and vacancies; and
WHEREAS, on August 18, 2003, the Town Council appointed a Committee Task
Force to review the current volunteer committee system utilized by the Town and to make
recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Town's current
committee system; and
WHEREAS, having concluded its assessment of the existing committee system, the
Committee Task Force made recommendations to the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council hereby finds by adopting the recommendations from
the Task Force, it has become necessary to repeal Resolution 2002-18, so that conflicting
ordinances and resolutions are not in place and that such action serves the best interests of
the Town;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. The Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas does hereby
repeal Resolution 2002-1.8 in its entirety.
Section 2. The Town Council commends the members of the Public Safety
Committee for their efforts and services provided over the past seventeen months.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its date of passage
in accordance with law.
