RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 46
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB,
TEXAS REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2003-02 CREATING A LIBRARY JOINT
USE STEERING COMMITTEE; ESTABLISHING DUTIES AND PROCEDURES
FOR SAME; COMMENDING THE LIBRARY JOINT USE COMMITTEE FOR ITS
SERVICE TO THE TOWN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on January 6, 2003 the Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club
adopted Resolution 2003-02, Texas, creating a Steering Committee to investigate the
possibility of entering into a joint use agreement with the Northwest Independent School
District; and
WHEREAS, during its eleven month tenure, the Steering Committee has served the
Town well by providing quality recommendations and guidance to Council and by assisting
with the growth of the Town's library services; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 2003-02, provided for the creation of the Steering
Committee, membership, terms of office, chair -person, obligation and duties of committees,
conduct of meetings and removal and vacancies; and
WHEREAS, on August 18, 2003, the Town Council appointed a Committee Task
Force to review the current volunteer committee system utilized by the Town and to make
recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Town's current
committee system; and
WHEREAS, having concluded its assessment of the existing committee system, the
Committee Task Force made recommendations to the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council hereby finds by adopting the recommendations from
the Task Force, it has become necessary to repeal Resolution 2003-02, so that conflicting
ordinances and resolutions are not in place and that such action serves the best interests of
the Town;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TROPHY CLUB, TEXAS:
Section 1. The Town Council of the Town of Trophy Club, Texas does hereby
repeal Resolution 2003-02 in its entirety.
Section 2. The Town Council commends the members of the Library Joint Use
Steering Committee for their efforts and services provided over the past eleven months.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its date of passage in
accordance with law.
